In addition, a teacher specially trained in the visual arts works with teachers and children to encourage expression through different media. The Reggio Emilia approach was created by the Reggio Emilia Municipal Infant/Toddler and Preschool Centers in Italy under the leadership of Loris Malaguzzi.
