What is our philosophy?
We believe in teaching children techniques and allowing them to come up with their own idea of what something should look like. Showing children a finished product forces them to think in a non-creative way. Process rather than product oriented art allows children to express themselves. The possibilities for discovery and learning are endless. When children are shown a finished product before they begin, we are giving them an opportunity to compare themselves and fail. Often a child will be afraid to make mistakes or be afraid to show what they have made because it doesn't look like the model.

About Us
We also believe in supporting teachers and parents in offering developmentally appropriate and healthy educational experiences to children. Our products and workshops are dedicated to this vision. Magic Mud® gives parents and teachers easy access to high quality natural clay. Magic Mud’s® support materials, such as the project guide, wooden boards, child-safe wire cutter and ergonomic tools, make clay easy to use. The I Am Clay documentary film teaches the importance of clay and shows how it can be used in many settings. It gives educators and parents the ability to see children immersed in the material. Our Teacher Workshops help educators understand the theory behind the use of art materials and the development of young children as well as the ability to experience each medium first-hand. Our on-line Clay Talk community allows educators and parents to ask questions, publish thoughts and take their own professional learning to a deeper level. We hope you enjoy our resources.
